"20% of kids learn to play music, 70% of adults wish they had." So goes the quote.

That means a lot of adults who have the opportunity to take up music lessons and work on making that wish come true as adults.

Kids left home and left you the piano? Great! Let's make use of it.

Kids learning and you are feeling a bit envious? Join in!

If you have a little time each day to rehearse and can find a time slot each week to attend a lesson, you can make a good start.

I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching adults. The ability to learn as an adult is not in doubt. In fact, many adults find that there are a lot of concepts and learning pathways already well set up and efficient that can be referred to and are helpful in learning to play the piano. Some assumptions need to be challenged and some time needs to be invested in actual 'hands on keys' time.  If you really want to play that is good news - you will be playing from your very first lesson. Many factors determine the speed and amount each person learns.  Give it a try and decide for yourself.  You learned to walk, to read, and many other things - you can learn piano too.

Lots more has been written about this.  Here is a start.
